With St. Patrick’s Day only a few days away, this week’s Throwback Thursday song is “Green Light,” by John Legend and Andre 3000. Released in 2008, “Green Light” was the lead single from Legend’s third studio album, Evolver. The song showcased his ability to change musical styles from adult contemporary to club bangers. It also established him as an R&B artist who could successfully crossover and collaborate with hip-hop artist.

The single saw all ‘green lights’ on the Billboard charts including R&B/Hip-Hip Songs (#6) Hot Dance Club Songs (#4), and Hot 100 (#24). It also became a certified platinum single in the United States.
The Grammy Award winner is hard at work putting the finishing touches on his long-awaited fourth studio album, Love in the Future due later this year.
