Yesterday, singer/songwriter Mariah Carey celebrated her 43rd birthday and to honor her legacy, this week’s Throwback Thursday song is “Touch My Body,” from her eleventh studio album E=MC². On the song, the songstress shares her romantic desires with her lover, yet daring him to disclose evidence of their love affair.
Mariah Carey made Billboard history with her chart-topping single. Not only did it become No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, it became her eighteenth number-one on that chart, landing her the most number-one singles in history surpassing Elvis Presley record (#17). Along with charting successfully on Billboard’s Hot 100, Touch My Body found success on the Hot Dance Club Songs (#1), R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (#2), Pop Songs (#7) and countless others.
