Let’s pop out the champagne, raise our glasses and toast as we congratulate Trey Songz on being recognized by the New York Chapter Recording Academy Honors 2013 earlier this week.
The prestigious honor is intended to recognize individuals in the entertainment industry for their outstanding contributions to their respective genres. With a musical catalog as impressive as Songz’s, the honor is well deserved.
Songz’s manager and mentor Kevin Liles presented the award to him, bringing Songz’s mother to the stage to witness her son’s career milestone.
R&B crooner Ne-Yo paid homage with his rendition of Songz hit song “Can’t Be Friends.”
“The “Chapter V” singer shared his thoughts on his Twitter after the ceremony. “Stood amongst legends tonight.,” he tweeted. “Truly grateful”
Trey Songz is in good company. Legendary R&B group Ashford & Simpson were also honored for their musical contribution.
