It is almost time for “A Merry Christmas,” I mean “A Mary Christmas,” the first holiday album from Mary J.Blige. It has been over a month since the album cover and release date (Oct.15) was revealed but we now get a few more hints on what to expect from the festive LP.
Produced by David Foster, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul lends her soulful voice to holiday classics like “This Christmas,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and the magical duet “When You Wish Upon a Star,” with Barbra Streisand.
“This record showcases how deep and wide her talent runs,” Foster says.
The album is expected to feature Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony and rumored of a duet with The Clark Sisters. The full tracklisting should be surfacing online in the coming weeks. However, we have not seen Blige promoting the LP yet but we’re sure she has a couple of surprises up her sleeve.
Make sure to grab a copy or two of “A Mary Christmas” on October 15. Its sure to be a holiday stuffer.
