Janelle Monae recently stopped by The Today Show and rocked the Rockefeller Plaza crowd as she performed her new single, “Dance Apocalyptic.”
After rocking the stage with her band, the funky singer sat down with co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Honda Kotb to talk about The Electric Lady, her signature style and missing important events in her family while on the road.
The Electric Lady is Janelle Monae’s second studio album, in which she raved about working with Erykah Badu, Solange Knowles and “musical hero” Prince.
The starlet also showed the co-hosts how to do her popular dance move from her “Tightrope” song.
