As we continue this month’s Throwback Thursday theme of strong ballads by R&B male singers, the second installment features Grammy nominated crooner Tank.
His 2001 soulful tune “Maybe I Deserve” served as the lead single from his debut album “Force of Nature.” Tank taps into the inner feelings of men whose women is receiving attention from another man but realizing it’s due to his ill-treatment towards her.
The song established Tank as a powerhouse in the R&B world along with being a talented songwriter. “Maybe I Deserve” spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No.38. It also earned the R&B heartthrob a Top 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking No.7.
“Maybe I Deserve” will forever be a friendly reminder for men to tighten-up before they break the heart of their girl because she might start getting her emotional needs met by someone else.
