2013 Rated RnB Music Award nominee (Best New Artist), K.Michelle stopped by VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live” on Thursday to chat with Carrie Keagan. Along with talking about ways to keep her hot pocket tight and friendly, the “V.S.O.P.” soul artist talked about being left out of 2014 GRAMMY nominations.
“The line was too long at Western Union. I was doing a little Christmas shopping, so I didn’t make it,” she said. “But people are entitled to their opinion. This is my first album. I’m a new artist, not a self-proclaimed new artist, really a new artist. So with that being said, I just feel like there’s a lot of time for it.”
K. Michelle doesn’t plan to mope about her GRAMMY snub and hopes next year her music will be recognized by the academy. “I truly feel like with my gift and my ability to write songs that touch people, that there’s always next year. That’s what we’ll aim for. We’ll just work even harder.”
In addition, the self-proclaimed Queen of VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop franchise talked about her transition from the Atlanta installment to now being a star on the New York edition. “I love New York,” said Michelle. However, the Big Apple hasn’t been so great for her love life.
