Los Angeles-based R&B duo BC Kingdom presents an interesting out-of-box visual for their single “Lock Up.”
Futuristic trend-setting group BC Kingdom collaborate with director Lane Stewart for a technology-driven visual for their visionary track. Both BC Kingdom and Stewart pushed the envelope and created an experience reviving us back to the Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes videos of the late ‘90s and early 2000s.
Captivating the depths of a prisoner, Logan Eze (1/2 member of the group) is an Inglewood giant who has tattoos on his face and a gold tooth in his mouth. Just when you wait for what you think will be rap lyrics uttering from his lips, out seeps mellow vocals instead. In his eyes, wicked smiles and jagged gestures, the singer-convict captures the intensity of imprisonment in jail and parallels it to the lyrics of an imprisoned heart. Stewart created a tense atmosphere for the video surrounded with shadows, rays of light, dark silhouettes, detailed graphics and hook repeats.
“Lock Up” is featured on Solange Knowles and Saint Records’ “Saint Heron” compilation album, which was released last November.
