Their joint album “Love, Marriage & Divorce,” arrived on Feb. 4 and sold 67, 000 copies in its debut week resulting in a No. 1 position on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The striking kick-off numbers is Braxton’s fifth leading album followed by “Toni Braxton,” “Secrets,” “The Heat” and “Pulse.” Surprisingly, this only marks Babyface’s second No. 1 occurring nearly 24 years ago with his sophomore “Tender Lover” holding 11 weeks at the top spot.
Even though the duet album soars Braxton and Babyface to the top again, “Love, Marriage & Divorce” broke Beyoncé’s self-titled album out of the top spot for the first time since its debut on Dec. 28 with a rein of eight weeks. Let’s see how long “Love, Marriage & Divorce” hugs the top spot.
