Now that JoJo has found her new home at Atlantic Records, everything seems to be on track — compared to her time at her former label Blackground Records.
The 23-year-old singer recently sat down with ABC News to share some of her plans for her new music. Although JoJo released her #LoveJo EP last month, she wants to release more music soon.
“I want to continue putting out content” she told ABC News. “I don’t know whether it’ll be in the form of a mixtape or just a few one-off songs, but I just think content is content. So, I just want to keep releasing stuff and kind of having it all lend itself to my world that I’m creating.”
Fans may not have to wait long for JoJo’s new single to drop. “I think our aim is to have a single out this summer,” she spilled. “I’m getting into the studio as soon as I get back to L.A…locking in and just creating.”
As far as her album is concerned, JoJo said, “I just can’t wait to create a classic album and to work my ass off and I know they’ll [Atlantic Records] do the same. They’ve been amazing.” She also adds, “You can expect a diverse collection of songs that help to explain me as a young woman and I think will speak to what it means to be a young woman in 2014, which isn’t just girl power anthems or boy-bashing songs, but it’s a wide variety of different influences.”
JoJo also added that after her album drops she plans to support it by going on tour.
