Columbia Records’ hottest commodity Pharrell continues to add new professions to his lengthy resume. Nearly a week after announcing his apparel and shoe deal with Adidas, the “Frontin” artist is now a new judge on NBC’s “The Voice.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Grammy-winning producer will permanently fill the seat of Cee Lo Green who recently told Ellen DeGeneres that he wants to focus solely on his musical endeavors.
Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late-night programming for NBC Entertainment, is delighted to have Williams aboard for their seventh season. “He has already made a considerable impact as a mentor, drawing on an impressive track record as both a producer and performer,” said Telegdy. “It is a perfect fit for The Voice as we evolve and reach for new heights with this franchise. It feels like we are welcoming an existing family member home.”
The Virginia native’s new judging gig won’t be his first time sharing his expertise on the singing competition show. During the show’s fourth season, he served as a guest mentor on Usher’s team.

His latest single “Happy” continues to soar on the Billboard charts. The single recently took over the top spot on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart last week.
