Producer/singer Pharrell will have all the G I R L S smelling good (hopefully) this fall with his new fragrance.
The “Happy” artist plans to launch a unisex fragrance, G I R L , with fashion label Comme des Garçons in September. CEO Adrian Joffe spoke highly of the collaboration with Williams. “This is the first time we have created a fragrance for a musician, and I can think of no greater talent and no greater gentleman to have done this with,” he said. “Pharrell knew exactly what he wanted the perfume to smell like right from the beginning. It has been an honor to work with such a creative artist with a great vision, which for is the most important thing.”
The Virginia Beach native continues his top notch collaborations as he teams up with Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar on the “Amazing Spiderman-2” soundtrack, a project that he is co-producing. Keys spoke about the powerful collaboration via press release. “This is the next chapter in the Spider-Man legacy and we really feel ‘It’s On Again’ captures the experience, the story—and most importantly—the meaning behind the film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary,” she said. “There’s a little bit of a Super Hero in all of us.” The soundtrack will be available April 22 and “Amazing Spiderman-2” hits theaters May 2.
In chart news, Pharrell’s hit single “Happy” entered the Top 5 on urban radio, joining the likes of Ty Dolla $ign’s “Paranoid” (No. 3) and Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love” (No.1).
