Pharrell is truly bringing his “Happy” lyrics to life. His Oscar-nominated single just reached the top five of Urban radio today after beating out “Up Down (Do This All Day)” by T-Pain and “The Language” by Drake.
The cheerful tune entered the top 50 of Urban radio at No. 50 on January 27, crediting 178 radio spins. Since then, the bubbly hit has tallied nearly 2,875 radio spins.
The song now joins Ty Dolla $ign’s “Paranoid” (No. 3) and Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love” (No.1) as the only three R&B songs in the top five.
In other Pharrell-related news, his sophomore album “G I R L,” debuted at No. 1 in the UK. With nearly 70,000 albums sold in its first week of sales, “G I R L” has become the fastest-selling artist release of the year so far.
