On Tuesday (April 22), urban alternative singer Kelis served fans her latest music dish, “FOOD.” As she awaits the first week sales of her newly released indie project, she visits Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” to spread more awareness about it.
Sporting a yellow jacket with black polka dots, the beautiful singer took on several questions from the morning show crew. The interview starts with Kelis discussing her new cooking show, “Saucy and Sweet,” which airs on The Cooking Channel. She reveals that it was only four years ago that she enrolled in culinary school and explains her reason for going. “I felt like I’ve been doing music for so long, it was like ‘do something else, challenge myself.'” She calls her culinary school experience “one of the best things I’ve ever did.”
When asked about her why she took a hiatus since the release of 2010’s “Flesh Tone,” she answered, “I don’t just rush things out like people [artists] do.”
Away from music, Kelis shared what it will take for the next Mr. Right to get her attention. “Taller and funny. I like to laugh, which I think it should be easy and not complicated,” she said.
Towards the end of the interview, she talks about her expectations for the album, why she doesn’t listen to rumors about her and much more.
