Before kicking off its 20th Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, ESSENCE will bring together a group of soulful talents for its “Road To ESSENCE Festival.” In conjunction with Wal-Mart, the mini-concert series will consist of four dates at local Wal-Mart stores in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Laurel, MD/Washington, DC. During each tour stop and day of fun, residents will get a chance to experience free entertainment, hear motivational speakers and collect gifts.
R&B artists such as Tank, Marsha Ambrosius, Syleena Johnson, Kindred the Family Soul, Full Force, Avery*Sunshine, Sevyn Streeter and The Walls Group will showcase their vocal abilities. The list of motivational speakers ranges from clinical psychologist, Dr. Sherry Blake and professor and entertainment manager, Dr. Syleecia Thompson and many more.
The President of ESSENCE Michelle Ebanks opened up about their recent partnership with Wal-Mart. “With a shared commitment to help people live better, ESSENCE and Wal-Mart have partnered to bring empowerment and entertainment to the community,” said Michelle. “Road to ESSENCE Festival is an exciting opportunity for our partners to engage our audience early and bring the Festival experience of live music, celebrity entertainment, inspirational conversation and giveaways directly to the backyards of our ESSENCE Festival family.”
