Leela James is playing no games. Just a week after releasing the titled track and second single to her new album, “Fall For You,” the underrated talent unleashes the accompanying music video.
James keeps it simple in the black-and-white clip, as she finds herself sitting at her piano singing the words to the emotional tune.
Penned by J Rilla, James reveals how “Fall For You” came to life. “We knew we wanted to do something special. What it was, I wasn’t sure. He sat down at the piano and he said, ‘just sing.’ It was amazing how it came about. He’s playing chords, and me, I’m just opening up my mouth. It was so special.”
Leela James Announces New Album
James will star in the upcoming season 2 of “R&B Divas: LA,” which airs this summer. The show will follow James as she readies her new album (due July 8), along with taking fans into her personal life.
