Former Richgirl member Brave Williams is ready to make a comeback. The Baltimore native recently dropped her radio-friendly single “Oooh (Luv Ya).” While at the 2014 African American Festival in Baltimore, Rated RnB caught up with the “He Ain’t Wit Me Now (Tho)” singer to talk about her new single and her forthcoming EP.
The Ivan Barias and MilknSizz produced tune was written by Candy Shields and Williams. “We just locked in the studio for about seven days and just rocked out writing,” says Williams on the origin of the song. “‘Oooh (Luv Ya)’ just came out from that session.”
“Oooh (Luv Ya)” is the lead single off Williams’ forthcoming debut EP “Fearless.” The EP was originally titled “A Brave New World.” However, Williams decided to change the title after having an epiphany. “I just realized in this journey that fear has never ever told me the truth,” Williams tells Rated RnB. “When I really understood that meaning I was like, ‘You know what? Because fear always lies and I know that you have to be fearless in order to get this I want to call that my EP.’”
Williams says “Fearless” will be a combination of hip-hop, R&B and pop tracks. “It’s like a happy marriage of hip-hop and melody,” she says.
“Fearless” is slated to release at the end of the summer.
