Rising singer Emanny celebrates his birthday today with the release of his new single “Ya Sex.”
The piano driven ballad has Emanny reminiscing about his sexual encounters with his love interest. “I’m just thinking about your sex/ Girl I’m thinking about how you say my name out of love, how you scream my name out of love,” Emanny sings.
“‘Ya Sex’ means so much more than just the title. I want people to hear the song and hear the sensual side of it and not be steered simple by the word ‘sex’,” Emanny explains of the single. “The song is more about a man who has messed up a good relationship and is now left with only the memories and thoughts of the good times. I wanted the visual to display that rather than just shoot a video grinding on a good looking woman. The song means so much more than that. Sex is merely a replacement for the word ‘Love’.”
“Ya Sex” is the first single off Emanny’s debut album, “Songs About Her 2,” due on October 21. “This project is about growth for me,” says Emanny. “Not only as an artist but as a man. Some would confuse the “HER” theme as me confessing and exposing my dealings and feelings with women of my past and present, but I look at it as more of me owning up to my own faults. Funny enough, these Songs About “HER” are more Songs About Me when you really analyze the songs.”
