Jhene Aiko appeared on The Wendy Williams Show on Monday to help announce the nominees for the 2014 Soul Train Awards. However, before spilling the beans on the nominees, the singer graced the stage to perform her new single “The Pressure.”
Backed by a guitar player, Aiko performed an acoustic version of her track. “The Pressure” appears on Aiko’s debut album, Souled Out, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 1 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart.
Aiko is also nominated for four Soul Train Awards including Best New Artist, Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award (“The Worst”) and Video of the Year (“The Worst”).
The 2014 Soul Train Awards, hosted by Wendy Williams, will broadcast simultaneously on Centric and BET on Sunday, November 30 at 8 p.m. EST.
