R&B underdog Karina Pasian rises from her musical hiatus to release her new song called “Solitaire.”
The emotional ballad is dedicated to Shakir Stewart, former VP of A&R at Def Jam, who committed suicide in November 2008. Stewart previously signed Pasian to Def Jam the same year.
“6 years ago today…. RIP Shakir Stewart. I thank God I got to experience your amazing energy. You were truly a blessing to this world and your spirit lives on through each and every life you touched,” Pasian wrote on Instagram.
Last week, Pasian visited BET’s 106 & Park to premiere the video for “Solitaire.” The track is on sale on iTunes. Proceeds from sales will benefit suicide awareness.
It’s nice to see Karina Pasian make a return. Hopefully, she will release more official music very soon!
