On Sunday night, British bred artist Sam Smith graced the 57th Annual Grammy Awards stage for a special performance.
Backed by a full orchestra, Smith performed his single “Stay With Me” alongside fellow Capitol Records signee Mary J. Blige. Smith, dressed in a pinstripe suit, sung the opening verse and chorus before Blige, donning a black satin gown, serenaded the audience with the song’s second verse and chorus.
As a choir entered the stage, the two singers meshed their soul voices together as they belted note for note.
Following his performance, Smith won Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Stay With Me (Darkchild Version)”. In addition to winning Song of the Year and Record of the Year, Smith has won Best Pop Vocal Album for In The Lonely Hour and Best New Artist.
