Texas native Leon Bridges has released his new single, “River.”
On the gospel/soul track, Bridges tells the story of redemption through baptism. Though he’s an up-and-comer, Bridges sings the mellow song with such an effortless soul, like that of a seasoned veteran. His vocals are supported by a guitar, tambourine and a choir. You will surely be taken to church and catch the spirit with this single.
Known for his’ 60s-style R&B sound and wearing vintage clothing when he performs, the singer/songwriter’s first single, “Coming Home,” was named a Top 10 Most Viral Track on Spotify and has over 500,000 views on YouTube.
Bridges is currently on tour in the United States and later dates in Europe, with a number of shows already sold out.
The 25-year-old’s debut album, Coming Home, will be released through Columbia Records on June 23.
