Grammy Award winning singer CeeLo Green has announced his Love Train Tour. The tour, which kicks off on March 1 at The Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C., will support his latest album Heart Blanche. Green will play at other intimate, historic venues across the United States to pay homage to music legends who inspired him, such as Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Ike and Tina Turner, and B. B. King.
“I look forward to hitting the road to celebrate great music of the south, and reconnecting with all my loyal fans,” says Green. “Come dressed for the occasion and help me re-create a moment from history at these iconic music venues. This tour will be very different from anything I’ve ever done before because of my choice of intimate venues and the variety of music I will perform from my new & classic hits to covers of some of my favorite songs.”
Green has a busy schedule before this year ends. On Dec. 22, Green will be the musical guest on Live! With Kelly & Michael as their house band playing Christmas music from his critically acclaimed holiday album during the show’s annual Christmas Special. Additionally, the Atlanta-native will return to his hometown to perform during halftime for The Hawks vs. Knicks game on December 26.
