It’s no question that Prince is one of the greatest musicians in the history of music. Over the last few decades, his music has touched and inspired many people across the world. However, while millions of people are familiar with his music — especially Purple Rain — there’s not much known about his personal life. Until now. The legendary singer has revealed his plans to publish an autobiography in 2017 via Spiegel & Grau at a pop-up show in New York City last Friday.
The highly anticipated book written in Prince’s words, reportedly titled The Beautiful Ones, will cover everything from his family life to the inspiration behind some of his classic songs. We can also expect Prince to touch on his ongoing battle with Warner Brothers Records.
“Prince is a towering figure in global culture and his music has been the soundtrack for untold numbers of people — including me — for more than a generation; his creative genius has provided the musical landscape of our lives,” said Spiegel & Grau Executive Editor Chris Jackson. “Millions of words have been written about Prince — books and articles, essays and criticism — but we’re thrilled to be publishing Prince’s powerful reflections on his own life in his own incandescently vivid, witty, and poetic voice.”
