Following a series of sold out shows this spring, R&B singer Ashanti and rapper Ja Rule have announced that they will be co-headlining a tour this summer.
The tour will hit 11 cities across the U.S. beginning on August 25 in New York City. Ashanti and Ja Rule will visit other major cities including Philadelphia, Richmond, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
The musical soulmates were known dominated the music scene in the early 2000’s with hits like “Put It On Me” and the Grammy nominated “Always On Time.”
This tour comes amidst details about Ashanti working on a new album.
“I’m pushing it just a little bit lyrically and getting deeper and finding different sounds,” Ashanti said in an interview with HipHollywood, discussing the new music that she has been working.
“It’s always tempting to do something new and different… But I think it’s very important to stick to your roots.”
Ashanti has also been working projects outside of the music industry such as executive producing for the film Mothers and Daughters, which released in early May.
