Eric Benét released his self-titled eighth studio album on Oct. 7 via Jordan House Records.

“This album [is] such a great representation of me musically,” he told Rated R&B in an interview. “Not only being on my own label but just recording in my own studio on the time frame that I wanted to do it with the [people] I wanted to work with. The whole thing underscored everything about me creatively.”

Eric Benét is a solid body of work that can be played from start to finish without skipping a track. However, five songs really stand out on the album.

In no particular order, check out the five songs you need to hear on Eric Benét.

1. “Can’t Tell U Enough”

On the album’s opening track, Benét croons about being so deeply in love with his woman that he can’t find the right words to tell her. “Girl I can’t tell you enough ( I love You) / And I can’t show you enough (I Need You),” he sings.

2. “Insane”

This song was clearly made for the bedroom. Benét sings about all the wonderful things he plans to do with his lady. “Sweat drips all over me / Girl tonight is gonna be insane / Screaming, beggin’ for more / From the bed to the floor/ Insane,” he sings. If you want to update your lovemaking playlist, you should definitely include “Insane.”

3. “Sunshine (Remix)” feat. Tamia

The original version of “Sunshine” is already an amazing track, which is why it’s heading to No. 1 at urban AC radio. However, Benét and Tamia’s vocal chemistry can’t be ignored in this song. It definitely has us anticipating their possible duets album. “Oh let me feel, I need to feel that sunshine / The light that used to glow up on my face,” they harmonize.

4. “Broke Beat & Busted”

On this buttery track, Benét flexes his falsetto vocals as he sings about being “broke, beat and busted” if his lover were to ever leave him. “We know that I would be broke, beat and busted / I would tap out, be drained and nothing / And all of my hopes and dreams would be hopeless / ‘Cause what would I have or be without you,” he sings.

5. “Cold Trigger”

Want to dance? Play this song. On this funky tune, Benét sings about being hooked on a woman’s love. “I can’t stop coming around / I been coming around too much / She got me thinking about, just thinking about it so much,” he sings.
