Broadway Musical Hamilton celebrates the life and achievements of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. His life story and achievements are being told through various genres including R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, and more. Creator Lin-Manuel took Hamilton’s story further with The Hamilton Mixtape, which includes songs from the musical remixed and re-imagined. The latest remix, “Wait For It,” comes from R&B veteran Usher which is about the affair between American politician and Theodosia Bartow Prevost.
“Theodosia writes me a letter every day/I’m keeping the bed warm while her husband is away/ He’s on the British side in Georgia/He’s trying to keep the colonies in line/ But he can keep all of Georgia/ Theodosia, she’s mine,” Usher sings.
“Wait For It” follows “Wrote My Way Out,” “Satisfied,” “My Shot,” “It’s Quiet Uptown” and “immigrants (We Get the Job Done).
The Hamilton Mixtape is scheduled to release on December 2 including features from artists such as Miguel, Queen Latifah, Ashanti, Sia, Nas, and more.
