August Alsina celebrates New Music Friday with a fresh track called “Lonely.” On the track, which samples The Stylistics’ 1971 classic “You Are Everything,” Alsina tries to save his dwindling relationship.
“I don’t like it when I hit you up, you don’t call back / There ain’t no need for all that / Breaking up, just to make up / Tell me when you had enough of this playing that you do, girl / But now you saying that we don’t communicate / Don’t you know communication travel both ways?,” Alsina sings.
“Lonely” is the follow-up to “Wait” and “Drugs,” which were both released last month. Alsina is prepping to release his third studio album, Drugs, this year via Def Jam Recordings.
