Yes, it’s the first week of spring and we’re already talking about Christmas.
Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas. During the holidays, it’s nearly impossible to go anywhere without hearing her 1994 hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The song will continue to spread its cultural impact this season. Carey has announced it will be adapted into an animated film.
She confirmed the news on Twitter. “I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families,” she said.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carey will narrate the Guy Vasilovich-directed film, which will release this year on Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
The film is reportedly based on Carey’s 2015 children’s book of the same name. In the film, a young Mariah Carey sees a cute puppy at a pet store and tries to convince her parents to buy it.
There isn’t a release date set for the film at the time of publishing.
