Jacob Banks can’t get enough of love on his new song “Chainsmoking.” Lifted from his upcoming EP, The Boy Who Cried Freedom, the bluesy tune finds Banks addicted to his partner’s love — even if it’s not good for him.
“It’s getting harder to breath, chainsmoking your love/ Can’t be good for my sanity/ Can’t be good for my lungs,” Banks sings on the infectious track.
“’Chainsmoking’ is about understanding that shit may be hard, but we push on any way,” he explained to The Fader. “I am really happy to share it, the sound mixes old and new vibes which is done across the EP in different colors.”
The Boy Who Cried Freedom is scheduled to release this spring on Interscope Records. The EP will also include Banks’ previously shared single “Unholy War.”
