A new album from Ledisi is on its way. The R&B songbird has announced her ninth studio album, Let Love Rule, will release on September 22 on Verve Records. The 15-track project will include contributions from John Legend, DJ Camper, BJ The Chicago Kid and Kirk Franklin.
“I feel like Let Love Rule made me accept my position as a great singer fully,” Ledisi said in a press release. “All of my projects are pieces of me. This piece is the singer and the songwriter part of me. I’ve come back to what I love about R&B and also what I love about today’s music. I love my art in the middle of era’s and mixing those worlds together.”
The album’s lead single “High,” produced by DJ Camper, is climbing the urban adult contemporary radio chart. It currently sits at No. 13 after 70 days on the chart.
Let Love Rule is the follow-up to Ledisi’s 2014 release, The Truth, which included hit singles “I Blame You” and “Lose Control.”
