Rising singer-songwriter KoraTheArtist has released her new single “Sail Away” featuring Flex Kartel. The mid-tempo banger is lifted from the D.C. native’s forthcoming EP that is slated to release later this year.
“’Sail Away’ for me means to rise to the next dimension or to ‘surf’ over the craziness and hate we face. I wanted to dig deep into the message but still give off a vibe that will have you replaying the song over and over again,” KoraTheArtist tells Rated R&B. “With this record, I needed to break through stereotypes and social barriers and put together an inspirational set of melodies and soulful vocals. Accompanied by EBM artist Flex Kartel, he truly uplifted the message with supporting lyrics that added what I call that ‘sauce.'”
Kora has been putting her pen to good use. She collaborated with producer David Knocks (Future, Trey Songz) to co-write all of the music for BET’s Eclipsed, which stars Danai Gurira (Black Panther).
