The time has come. Kali Uchis has finally released her long-awaited debut album Isolation via Interscope Records.
The 15-track project includes Uchis’ gold-selling single “After the Storm” featuring Tyler, the Creator and Bootsy Collins. The LP also features collaborations with Jorja Smith, Bia, Steve Lacy and Reykon.
“The basis of the album is that nobody is perfect, but that a lot of us just pretend more than others,” Uchis stated in a press release. “I can still reclaim my own femininity, I can still take a hold of my own sexuality, wear what I want to wear, look how I want to look, be who I want to be and that doesn’t mean that I can’t also be a creative, an intellectual, someone who calls their own shots in their life.”
Described as an “open journal,” Isolation (originally titled Fool’s Paradise ) is the first full-length project since Uchis’ 2015 EP Por Vida.
