Ne-Yo Reveals ‘Good Man’ Album Cover and Track List

With less than a month until his new album Good Man releases (June 8), Ne-Yo shares the official artwork and track list. The cover art shows Ne-Yo dressed in all white with an overlaying symbol that represents the metamorphosis stages of a butterfly.

According to a press release, the album is an expedition through the highs and lows of love, with an extra shot of candor. It will also showcase Ne-Yo’s growth both musically and personally.

“This album focuses on the journey of what it is to be a good man: a good man to your spouse, a good brother to your brother, a good person to the world,” Ne-Yo explained. “I am not proclaiming to be perfect. A good man makes mistakes, learns from those mistakes, therefore to not then repeat those mistakes. Being a good man is a journey.”

Good Man will come in a 17-track standard edition and 20-track deluxe edition with features from PartyNextDoor, Eric Bellinger, Candice Boyd, Sam Hook, Bebe Rexha, Stefflon Don and Romeo Santos. It will also include his current singles “Good Man” and “Push Back.” The video for “Push Back” has over 19 million views on YouTube.

SZA Plans to Launch Sustainable Clothing Line to Help Save Oceans

SZA wants to do her part to help save the ocean. The Grammy-nominated singer announced her new clothing line, in possible collaboration with Champion, dedicated to sustainability.

SZA shared an assumed final product of Ctrl Fishing Company — the possible name of her new apparel line, which is named after her debut album — on Instagram that featured a stylish hoodie. Across the hooded sweatshirt, in a rainbow embroidered font, it reads “Sustainability Gang” under a Champion logo.

In a series of IG story posts, the singer revealed other chic t-shirts and sweatshirts that included prints of cute seahorses and blue whales next to a “Puck Flastic” message.

SZA is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from the collection to support sustainable efforts focused on protecting the oceans.

In other news, SZA is banging it out in the studio for her final album. “My world got so much smaller so fast,” she told Flaunt. “I have so much to write about. I feel like I’m in a cage. I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that… because it’s going to be my last album.”

Aretha Franklin Dead at 76

Legendary singer and musician Aretha Franklin has died at age 76. The devasting news comes after reports of Franklin being ‘gravely ill’ in a Detroit hospital.

Franklin’s publicist Gwendolyn Quinn confirmed The Queen of Soul died at her home in Detroit on Thursday morning.

“Franklin’s official cause of death was due to advanced pancreatic cancer of the neuroendocrine type, which was confirmed by Franklin’s oncologist, Dr. Philip Phillips of Karmanos Cancer Institute,” Quinn told The Associated Press.

Franklin’s family added, “In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart. We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins knew no bounds. We have been deeply touched by the incredible outpouring of love and support we have received from close friends, supporters and fans all around the world. Thank you for your compassion and prayers. We have felt your love for Aretha and it brings us comfort to know that her legacy will live on. As we grieve, we ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Funeral arrangements for Franklin is expected to be announced in the coming days.

Erykah Badu Lands Role in Gender-Flipped Remake ‘What Men Want’

If you loved television psychic Miss Cleo and Nancy Meyers’ 2000 film, What Women Want, you’re going to enjoy Erykah Badu’s upcoming movie role. The eccentric singer has been tapped to portray a crystal gazer in the gender-swapped reboot What Men Want.

In the Adam Shankman-directed comedy, Badu has Taraji P. Henson (Ali) seeking her auguring assistance after being turned down for a promotion in a male-dominated workplace. Badu wipes up a special tea blend — with jasmine, weed, peyote, and crack — that gives Henson the ability to read the minds of men.

In other Badu news, she visited the NPR headquarters for its Tiny Desk series. Joined by a seven-piece band, Fat Belly Bella performed underrated gems from her albums Badizum (“Rimshot”) and Mama’s Gun (“Green Eyes”).

What Men Want hits theaters on January 11, 2019. Check out the film’s trailer and Badu’s Tiny Desk performance below.
