After writing for artists like Rihanna and Mary J. Blige, Priscilla Renea is back to focusing on her own music.
The singer-songwriter has announced her new album, Coloured, is set to arrive on June 22 via Thirty Tigers. The album is described as a “fierce, political, and personal collection of stories that reckon with Priscilla’s childhood in rural Florida, love, heartbreak and racial trauma.”
Ahead of the album release, Renea has shared a two-part video for her songs “Gentle Hands” and “Heavenly.” The video shows Renea dressed to kill, listing off to God the kind of man she’d like to find and then suddenly, vulnerable as she reckons with the overwhelming weight of love once she’s found him.
Later this month, Renea will go on tour across the U.S. She will hit major cities like Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia and New York.
