Childish Gambino Drops Two Summer-Themed Songs

After dropping his politically-charged track “This Is America,” Childish Gambino lightens the mood with two new songs — “Summertime Magic” and “Feels Like Summer.”

On “Summertime Magic,” which he co-produced with Ludwig Göransson, Gambino compares his lover to the warm season.

“You feel like summertime / You took this heart of mine / You’ll be my valentine in the summer, in the summer / You are my only one / Just dancin’ having fun / Out in the shining sun of the summer, of the summer,” he sings on the feel-good track.

“Feels Like Summer” is a reggae-inspired track that was also co-produced by Gambino and Göransson. On the midtempo groove, Gambino describes how his lover makes him feel like summer.

“Every day gets hotter than the one before / Running out of water, it’s about to go down,” he sings.

“Summertime Magic” and “Feel Like Summer” were released as part of Glover’s Summer Pack. Both songs are expected to appear on Gambino’s forthcoming album that will release later this year on Wolf+Rothstein/RCA Records.

On September 6, Gambino will kick off his North American fall tour in Atlanta with special guest Rae Sremmurd. The tour will hit major cities including Washington, D.C., Chicago, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, before wrapping up on September 30 in Vancouver.

Ciara Returns with Upbeat Single ‘Level Up’

Ciara is back! The 32-year-old singer has released her new single titled “Level Up,” which samples DJ Telly Tell’s “Fuck It Up Challenge.” Produced by J.R. Rotem, the uptempo record is about knowing your worth and never settling for less.

“I just keep elevating, no losses, just upgrading / My lessons, made blessings, I turned that into money / Thank God I never settled, this view is so much better / I’m chilling, I’m winning, like on another level,” Ciara sings in the first verse.

Along with her new song release, Ciara also premiered the official video. In the dance-heavy clip, choreographed by Parris Goebel, Ciara and her dancers (The Official Royal Family) bring their A-game as they perform intricate moves in a vacant building.

“Level Up” is the first single from Ciara’s upcoming seventh studio album that will release on Beauty Entertainment/Warner Bros. Records. The album is the follow-up to 2015’s Jackie, which included her platinum single “I Bet.”

K. Roosevelt Shares New Song and Video, ‘Adrenaline’

With the ink now dry on his new Def Jam deal, K. Roosevelt is already getting to work. The Los Angeles native has released a brand new song titled “Adrenaline,” off his debut self-titled EP, due July 27.

Supported by outmoded synths and artful bassline, the R&B newcomer recalls fond moments and precious memories of a special gal. “Used to say she’d cut me loose / If I played you like a fool,” he coos on the peculiar number. “Either way I’ll come with you / Understand me, comprehend it / I just want to know the truth.”

Roosevelt also premiered the video for “Adrenaline,” which was directed by Sean Brown. The retro-themed video finds Roosevelt playing a blue electric guitar outside of a West Coast-styled home. He later joins friends at the poolside for laughs and vibes.

On July 20, Roosevelt will continue the EP rollout with “Blinding My Way,” the second single. He will premiere its accompanying visual, too.

Before signing to Def Jam, Roosevelt received artist nurturing from producer Hit-Boy under his Hits Since ’87 label.
