Rising singer Jessie Reyez is back with another heartfelt song titled “Apple Juice,” which premiered today on Beats 1. The raw ballad is about the uphill battles of learning to love and the challenges faced.
“You’re always fighting something / You never stop running / You don’t even bother tryna keep your smile / Let me take you back, boy let me try / We might be alright / Perfect ain’t coming but we’ll be alright,” she sings.
Speaking on the song, Reyez told Zane Lowe,”You found me still honest, still crying, still hurt, still emotional. Stuff is very consistent. It’s just another part of my life, another moment, another chapter.”
“Apple Juice” follows Reyez’ most recent songs “Body Count” and “Figures, A Reprise” featuring Daniel Caesar.
Reyez plans to drop more new music every few weeks for the rest of the summer. She will release her new EP this fall on Island Records/FMLY.
