Monica and PJ Morton Hit the Studio

Monica is working on new music. The veteran singer has been in New Orleans making ‘real music’ with talented musician PJ Morton.

Monica recapped her trip to NOLA on Instagram (Aug. 16) and revealed that she and Morton completed five songs in four days. She attributed their quick recording sessions to “passion, soul, [and] sincerity.”

Monica commented that working with Morton felt “like when I first began” and thanked “one of the illest” for creating her new sound.

It’s been nearly three years since Monica released her eighth studio album, Code Red. The LP, the final project on her career-long label, RCA Records, debuted at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 with 36,000 copies sold in the first week.

With a every new book, comes a new story. We can’t wait to hear Monica’s new music.
