Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar team up to release a new record titled “Tints.”
On the lighthearted affair, which he co-produced with Om’Mas Keith, .Paak starts things off in a celebratory fashion. “I been in my bag, gaining weight / Tryna throw a bag in the safe / Giggin’, tourin’, tryna ride the bass.”
As the thumping baseline cements .Paak’s point, K-Dot enters the fray, adding his two cents. “Bitch I’m Kendrick Lamar, respect me from afar.”
“Tints” is the latest single from .Paak’s forthcoming album Oxnard, due later this year. The project, which is named after his Southern California hometown, will mark his first effort on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment.
Paak mentioned to Rolling Stone, “This is the album I dreamed of making in high school, when I was listening to [Jay-Z]’s The Blueprint, The Game’s The Documentary, and [Kanye West’s] The College Dropout.”
After releasing his last album Malibu in 2016, .Paak released Yes Lawd! with underground artist Knxwledge under the stage name NxWorries. Earlier this year, .Paak released songs “Bubblin” and “Til It’s Over” to whet the appetite of fans in a Paak drought.
