Dondria has discovered that the love she once held dear was merely from a “Stranger.” The songstress has released a new track off her joint project, A Tale of Hearts, with up-and-coming singer Broadway.
On the soulful ballad, Dondria channels her inner Tamia and longs to know who this intruder is. “Lately I’ve been sleeping with a stranger / This feeling’s unfamiliar,” Phatfffat repeats in the chorus as she holds back before an impressive climax, which showcases her upper register and vocal agility.
Songs about jaded love aren’t uncommon, but this vocal titan has a certain longing in her voice that transcends “Stranger” beyond a typical disillusionment ballad.
In other news, Dondria also released a visual for “Crush” from the joint album. For the video, it sees her and Broadway in a house party environment, grooving to music and enjoying the presence of all of the larger-than-life personalities there. The video sees the mostly subdued singer out of her element and jiving for life.
While A Tale of Hearts is on the way, the R&B princess has been keeping a relatively low profile. Dondria does make it a habit of posting covers on social media to ’90s classics and even does some contemporary songs to appease fans who wait patiently for her new music.
