Budding prodigy Isabelle Brown is on our radar. The 15-year-old singer has released an impressive new song titled “Places.”
Backed by a haunting minimalist beat, Brown speaks of taking a loved one to a place where they can find solace. While letting her vocal chops take the main stage, she belts, “I know what you’ve been going through / So let me take you places.”
The delicate rasp and subtleties in her voice give the impression that someone much older is singing the song.
Brown hopes “Places” can inspire a message of positivity in those who care to digest the lyrics. “When people hear it I’d love it if they got an overwhelming feeling of warmth and happiness, but that’s a bit of a reach so as long as they think the tune is decent then that’s alright with me,” she shared with FADER.
“Places” is Brown’s first recording since the arrival of her debut mixtape, Only Having A Laugh, earlier this year.
