After teasing “Waves” during her Tidal X set last month, Normani shares the official audio. The 6LACK-assisted tune finds Normani battling with her feelings as she tries to move on from a past relationship.
“First I blame you, then I want you / Fucking hate you, then I love you / I can’t help myself, no / When I have you, wanna leave you / If you go, that’s when I need you / I can’t help myself, no,” she sings.
6LACK chimes in on the third verse, where he shares the same sentiments. “We started together then this’ll be the end / ‘Cause I love you then I hate you / I won’t dare try to replace you,” he croons.
“Waves” follows Normani’s double song release with Calvin Harris — “Checklist” and “Slow Down.” It’s not clear if these songs will be featured on Normani’s highly anticipated debut album that will release via Keep Cool/RCA Records.
The R&B starlet will join pop princess Ariana Grande on her Sweetner World Tour, which launches on March 18, 2019 in Albany, NY and will continue through June 18 in New York, NY.
In other news, 6LACK is currently headlining his From East Atlanta with Love Tour that will wrap up on December 21 in Atlanta.
