London native J-Sol and Los Angeles-based singer Mishon join forces for their new track titled “Missing Pieces.” Over an intoxicating production, the two crooners sing about filling a void in their heart.
Mishon opens the track trying to figure out when his woman will walk into his life. “I been staying silent stacking hundreds to the sky / Sometimes I look up and I ask God why? / Why you make a young nigga so damn fly? / And when you finna put a real queen in my life,” he sings. Meanwhile, J-Sol feels like “traveling the world by myself ain’t enough.”
J-Sol, who competed in X Factor UK 2018, says the song was inspired by a dark moment in his life. “‘Missing Pieces’ was a song I wrote with Mishon whilst on vacation in LA. It was a time where I felt lost and felt like I had no purpose. Thankfully, I’m not longer in this headspace,” he tells Rated R&B.
The R&B gents also shared an accompanying video, which was filmed in London this summer. “Mishon came out to London as a special guest for my sold-out headlining concert and we decided that it made sense to shoot the video,” says J-Sol.
“Missing Pieces” follows J-Sol’s previously released tracks “Do That,” “Wish I Could” and “Sober,” which were all released this year.
Given all the song releases, we can only anticipate J-Sol has a new project in the works.
