Budding diva Shay Lia is making a name for herself by releasing a string of bops on SoundCloud. Her most recent effort titled “The Cycle” serves as a sultry ballad with haunting production by Sango.
Supplying the melodic record with a tinge of rasp from her low register, Lia uses the groove to respond to a scorned lover. “Don’t tell me lies / Come on boy I wasn’t born yesterday,” she sings.
Lia gushed on Instagram that her ex-fueled the lyrical content. Even though “The Cycle” was much different from her previous releases, she found comfort in working with collaborators XO and Sango.
