Two years after releasing his Grammy-nominated Malibu album, Anderson .Paak premieres his new album, Oxnard, today. The collection of 14 feel-good songs take the California native to soaring new heights and blends genres into one cohesive project.
Spearheaded by Dr. Dre, Oxnard aligns Anderson. Paak beside high profile stars like J. Cole, BJ the Chicago Kid, Q-Tip and Snoop Dogg. One of the standouts, “Tints,” which features Kendrick Lamar, has already made significant traction in the music realm. The track has over 16 million streams on Spotify.
“[Oxnard] is bringing the things that I’ve learned from going out and experiencing life outside of my comfort zone and outside of my natural habitat,” .Paak told Apple Music. “I had to leave and go into the bigger city, into the world, and learn all these things, and now I’m bringing it back to my home front.”
On November 17, .Paak will host a family carnival to celebrate the arrival of his new album. The special event, taking place in his hometown of Oxnard, Calif., will include free food, rides and games with prizes.
