Mariah Carey kicks off December on a high note. “With You,” the lead single from Caution, has landed the famed vocalist her first top 10 single on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart since 2008’s “Touch My Body” (No. 7).
The three-octave shift from No. 12 to No. 9 comes in after the Mustard-produced ballad increased in radio spins and in audience impressions on Urban Adult Contemporary radio on last Saturday (Dec. 1).
Out of her 34 appearances on the Adult R&B Songs Chart, this new milestone gives Carey her 14th top 10 hit. She made her chart debut in 1993 with “Dreamlover.” Interestingly, “We Belong Together” and “Fly Like a Bird,” from The Emancipation of Mimi, are her only two songs to reach the summit. The latter spiritual peaked at number one for six non-consecutive weeks in the summer of 2006.
Seeing that MC is about to take over Christmas once again, Rated R&B has decided to celebrate her latest accomplishment with a list of her top 10 Adult R&B Songs feats.
