Lil Mo has a lot in store for 2019. The Godmother of Hip-Hop and R&B will be making her to reality television on WE tv’s Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars on Thursday, Jan. 10. The season will follow Mo and her husband Karl Dargan as they work on issues that have negatively impacted their relationship, including Karl’s infidelity.
In addition to her appearance on Marriage Boot Camp, Mo is also gearing up to release her new EP titled Separation Anxiety. The project will follow 2014’s The Scarlet Letter, which featured the single “Should’ve Never Let You Go.”
“The first single entitled ‘The Plug’ features Wiz Khalifa and this joint is so crazy,” Mo exclusively tells Rated R&B. “It’s better than any song I’ve probably ever did in my life.”
Speaking on her experience creating Separation Anxiety, Mo revealed how she took a different approach for the project. “I think this one is more tedious because I tapped into the dark side,” she says. “I’m usually singing empowering songs…and just about love, but this time I stepped in and I’m just like, ‘Yo, what the fuck?’ My idea of the ideal marriage would be perfection and working it out and talking it out…but it doesn’t work like that in the real world. So, with that, I wrote songs about it.”
According to Mo, Separation Anxiety will arrive later this month once a sample has been cleared.
