After taking us “Places” last year, Isabelle Brown plans to take us back to ‘03′ with her forthcoming EP.
Set to arrive on February 7 via True Panther & AWAL/Kobalt, the four-track project represents Brown’s evolution as a rising singer from the age of 12 to 14. It also highlights her strong admiration for traditional soul music.
In celebration of the EP announcement, the underground diva dropped a uniquely distinct song called ‘What U Waiting 4.” The record illuminates a sweet spot in the singer’s catalog and features some beautiful harmonies and blatant neo-soul influences. Judging by the tinges of gospel also tucked in the background cadences of this track, Brown surely has studied the greats while forging her own talent.
’03’ follows Brown’s debut mixtape, Only Having A Laugh, which arrived last year.
