The forecast predicts a Cosmic Wind is coming this spring. Lion Babe recently announced their sophomore album will arrive on March 29.
The Funk-soul duo’s second LP will reportedly be a polished version of their 2016 debut album Begin. “We didn’t have much experience yet with writing and making records, so there was a lot trial and error, and having to learn quick [with Begin],” they told Rolling Stone. “There was also a lot of label push to influence our sound and who we worked with. Now that we’re independent, we are able to take full control and create a project that is 100 percent us.”
Along with their album announcement, Lion Babe shared the video for their Leikeli47-assisted single “The Wave.” The clip sees the soulful pair take on ’70s culture while packing in glimpses of interesting eye candy, galvanizing optical illusions and a Soul Train-inspired dance routine.
