Tori Kelly Hopes to ‘Change Your Mind’ on New Song

Just four months after releasing her gospel-inspired album Hiding Place, Tori Kelly returns with a refreshing track titled “Change Your Mind.”

The artwork interestingly shows a close up of Kelly holding a bridal bouquet and wearing the same dress she wore for her wedding. She tied the knot with basketball player André Murillo in May 2018.

Co-written by Kelly and Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Disclosure, Mary J. Blige), “Change Your Mind” finds Kelly trying to convince her family (particularly her father) that the man she is in love with is right for her.

“No one ever said it was easy / And I love him, you gotta believe me / No, it don’t seem right / But I’ll change your mind, mind / Trust in me, I’ma need your blessing / Oh, I love him, I’m confessing / If it takes my life, I’ma change your mind,” she sings on the chorus.

“Change Your Mind” is Kelly’s first secular single since 2015’s “Hollow” from her re-issued debut album, Unbreakable Smile.

In addition to her new single, Kelly also announced the North American dates for her Acoustic Sessions Tour. The tour will kick off on February 25 at the Fox Theatre in Tuscon, Arizona, and will conclude on April 13 at The Fillmore in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Kelly will appear at the 61st Grammy Awards on February 10, where she is nominated for Best Gospel Album (Hiding Place) and Best Gospel Performance/Song (“Never Alone” featuring Kirk Franklin).
